COLUMBUS, Ohio — New Albany-based Victoria's Secret is being sued by a California woman who claimed she was struck in the eye by a decorative metallic object that flew off a thong she was trying on.

Macrida Patterson, 52, claims her cornea was severely damaged by a defective "low-rise v-string" from Victoria's Secret's "Sexy Little Thing" line, according to The Smoking Gun.

The lawsuit was filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Patterson's lawyer, Jason Buccat, told the Web site that a "design flaw" with the garment was to blame.

Patterson, who works as a traffic officer for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, said the accident caused her to miss several days of work.

Her lawyer said that Patterson's injury will affect her "the rest of her life."

Prior to the lawsuit's filing, Victoria's Secret officials asked to examine the garment and the decorative piece, but that request was rejected by Patterson's counsel, The Smoking Gun reported.
