Woman Discovers Large Porn Stash In Storage Unit
DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ―
Dallas police have sealed off a rental storage unit after someone discovered what may be a hidden stash of child pornography.
The storage unit was inside of Uncle Bob's Storage on the 9400 block of Hargrove in northwest Dallas.
The rent on the unit had not been paid since April and the renter was nowhere to be found.
According to a DPD offense report, a new customer opened the door to the unit and "found a large amount of pornography in the unit... She feared that some of the photos involved may be of minors."
A police detective confiscated some of the material and the unit will remain locked until child exploitation investigators can examine it. An initial examination found that most of the pornography appeared to involve adults.
"From what I understand, there is a great deal of pornography in there," said Dallas Police Sr. Corporal Kevin Janse. "They're going to have a long drawn out process of trying to determine if underage children were involved."
No one with Uncle Bob's Storage would comment on the investigation and it's unclear if authorities have enough information to track down the person responsible storing it. If the stash of pornography involves children, the police could use surveillance video of the site.
