this is super short, but i read this long-ass article about the whole boehner thing. pretty sure i didn't swarm it because i figured no one would care, but i'll summarize:
--random couple are using some kind of ham radio shits or something and intercept boehner's cell call
--realize it's an important call -- and they are, coincidentally, big time democrats -- and so they tape the call
--send it to their rep
--rep leaks it to the press
--rep lies, which sucks, but later admits it was him
--boehner tries to sue EVERYONE. he successfully sues the couple, who pay like $500 in fines. he sues the newspapers and i think also the radio stations, who, unsurprisingly, scramble like frantic little bitches. some of the newspapers vow support, some fold. he sues whats-his-face rep, and ties him up in a long fucking legal battle
--he convinces poor whats-his-face to settle due to the fact that even if he eventually wins, whats-his-face cannot have his legal fees paid for.
that is to say, boehner ties up this guy in a protracted legal battle that will cost him a fortune if he wins, a large fortune if he loses, but a small fortune if he settles
boehner is an all around big piece of unscrupulous shit, but i guess that is not a shock to anyone anywhere.
